Welcome to 2024, the year of working on Dating in a World on Fire. I’m starting you off with a free short playable demo called “Meet Relay” as an introduction to the main character.

It’s built in Renpy Web, no downloading or installing required, and can be played in a phone browser if you want, though best on a PC or mac browser. I’m hoping to generate interest in the game through this demo.

As of this writing this is all I have. No doubt there will be changes as I write the rest. There are currently no player avatars, as this game is short enough to not really need them. Eventually there will be at least two, one of each gender.

This demo will no doubt change as I build the game. with player avatars, theme song and other music and sound coming, maybe a tighter beginning being added.

A Sci-Fi Date Ariane

Date Ariane is far and away my most popular game, so my game plan for this game is to copy a lot of it, restructure it for multiple chapters, set it in the near future, and introduce Relay, the new sexy dateable character. This is not a sequel or “same universe” situation, though there will be stuff from all 4 of my other games to enhance this game.

I’m using the Daz Studio iRay render engine to give it a fresh look, compared to my poser work used in the other games. The model is a Victoria 8.2 model which tends to look more realistic than the classic Victoria 4.2 I have been using.

As for the game structure, I don’t want to give too many details, because in reality they don’t exist yet, but I’m already working on a next chapter introducing one of the player character’s roommates. In Something’s In The Air Redux, I introduced a character you talk to at the end of each date to analyze the date you were just on. This roommate serves the same role analyzing your performance, and giving you pointers for next time.

A second character will be introduced later. Since the game mirrors Date Ariane, there needs to be an equivalent to Rebecca. That character is named Alex and I already shared pictures of them in previous posts.

While I promise to keep the public informed here, the most up to date info and playable demos will be on Patreon first.

Other Games in 2024

While Dating in a World on Fire will be my central project this year, because I just finished voicing Ariane in Paradise, at the end of 2023, I am planning a Steam release early this year which will require a bit of programming and new graphics work for the Steam store.

That leaves Hopepunk City as the last that needs voicing and an update, followed by a steam release. The update should be done this summer, with a steam release next fall.
