Hopepunk City 1.5 is now fully AI voiced and available in all formats at either itch.io or the Site Store.

If you bought the game on itch.io for Mac, Linux, or Windows, simply download the new version and extract it. You can overwrite the old files if you want. Old save should still work fine.

If you bought it on the site store and want the new version, click the link to send a message to me , and I’ll send you an email to download the new version.

If you have the game on Android, the new android version will likely give you a “corrupt file” message if you try to upgrade due to changing android formats. Uninstall the old android version and install the new. This means all old saved games will be lost if you do.

Demos will still work for Mac or PC. I am removing the android demo. The online demo available here, works on android now.

Hopepunk City is now fully AI voiced like all my other games.

Besides voices some of the text was changed, Maya’s explanation of how the government works was cut in half, and some of the “technobabble” was cut in the science related scenes like the “Artificial Telepathy” scene.  Some of the text and images were changed to make Hopepunk City a sequel to Date Ariane Remastered and Something’s In The Air Redux.

The epilogue is voiced oddly though. It plays the voice files like sound effects and the “sounds” volume controls it instead of the “voice” volume. For the epilogue, click once and let it stream like a video. Skipping ahead will skip line but will not progress the background pics which flip on a timer.

While all these changes are significant, this is not a “new” game and you don’t have to pay for  it again.  I plan to release this version to Steam in the fall.

I am including a new  android version. Because of changes to android I get a message saying the file looks corrupted when I try to upgrade to 1.5 It is not corrupted. But it means you can’t upgrade your old android game. Uninstall the old android Hopepunk City and install a fresh copy. Obviously, this will delete any saved games you had. 

I have to use an old version of Renpy running on an old computer to make android files, which I knew would come to an end eventually.  I think I reached that ending, and will have to find a new way to make apk files in the future. The “lores” version has not been upgraded, but is still useble on older android devices.
